Allow me to preface the rest of this article by saying that I have researched extensively and I have found every single smart thermostat that works with Google Home as of the writing of this article. I will do my best to come back and update this as I find newer products.

Nest – The Best All-Around Smart Thermostat

Nest has partnered with Google in order to combat the marketing strategies of Amazon and Apple. Therefore it only makes sense that I mention them first.

One of the standout features of Nest is that it literally can take it a week to learn your habits and how you use your heat. It’s training capabilities definitely make it one of the best options you can choose along with it’s preferred compatibility.

Google Home compatibility allows you to control heat and hot water and never even mess with that pesky dial on the wall again.

Hive – The New Smart Thermostat On The Block

Well, it took them a while to come around, but Hive’s Smart Thermostat is now officially compatible with Google Home!

Hive is all over the map now and definitely an emerging company with some of their newer smart home technology. The Hive family of smart home products now includes smart cameras, smart lighting, and even smart plugs!

This does also require a Hive Hub, which it comes with. It does also require that you have a C-wire for the installation, but that’s pretty much standard for every smart thermostat out there.

I like what Hive is doing with their product line and the fact that their thermostats are now compatible with Google Home might just be the game changer they needed.

Ecobee – Best Multiroom Smart Thermostat

Anyone who has been reading my blog knows that I am a HUGE fan of Ecobee for so many reasons. Their customer service is the biggest reason.

You can read my article about my experience with Ecobee’s customer service. I personally have 4 Ecobee thermostats in my home (one for each zone) and I love them!

The Ecobee3 Lite smart thermostat is probably my personal favorite just because of its low price point. You can usually find them for a pretty good deal on Amazon when they are on sale.

You can pair it with Ecobee room sensors (sold separately) to help manage the areas in your home that are particularly cold or hot.

Honeywell – Best Smart Thermostat Deal

Honeywell has been around forever in the heating and cooling industry. They make a good quality product. The reason that I’m including them here is not just because of that.

Their Lyric T5 features adaptive recovery technology that works with its built-in geofencing capabilities. This allows the thermostat to know if you are home or not and what the temperature should be set to.

I had to do some research here because it was not clear at first whether or not Honeywell is compatible with Google Homes Assistant.

But I have good news!

According to Honeywell’s website, their Lyric T5 and others are now compatible with Google Home.

Their price point is so low that I’d have to be an idiot to leave them out! You can check out their current price on Amazon as well as reviews.

Mysa – Best Smart Thermostat For Baseboards

When it comes to heating a home with baseboards it can be a different ballgame. Mysa has taken all of the guesswork out of it though for high voltage/line voltage home heating.

Of course, if you have electric baseboard or fan-forced heaters, then you know how expensive it can be to heat your home. Mysa is one of the smartest ways to save up to 30% on your heating bill.

Mysa is not the most expensive smart thermostat out there either with a price point which really isn’t that bad all things considered.

You can take full control of your home’s energy usage by using their app. It also allows you to use your voice via Google Home and you can even add it to your Samsung SmartThings routine or set up IFTTT applets.
